A New Addition to the Bahr Family!!!

This past December we added a new member to our family... a puppy!! 

We saw this little guy and for me at least it was love at first sight: 

We adopted him from FurKids, they are a no-kill animal shelter. I had been looking online for dogs while I was in Jordan and all the ones we had looked at didn't seem right or got adopted. 

So we finally found the advertisement for him (www.petfinder.com -it's an awesome website where you can go and adopt various animals, cats, dogs, rabbits, birds and I've even seen a pony on there before), and looking at him he seemed right. We met his foster-mom Kay and she was rather nice. Kirby was pretty shy but warmed up to us quickly. He was such a cuddle-bug! We took the plunge and adopted him. We might have given him some anxiety because within 24 hours of meeting him, taking him home for a trial, and then taking him back to the store for the final adoption, we decided to get him trimmed. As you can tell from the pictures above, he was looking a bit scrappy. 

But we got him trimmed and voila! We have a handsome boy!!

He is seriously the perfect dog for us. He's now about a year and a half old and just a good mixture of loveable, sweet, fun and playful. He loves toys and can demolish a rawhide in hours. He's a whopping 8.5 pounds and doesn't act like it. Kay named him Kirby Dublin and we decided that Kirby fit him quite well. He has fun with squeak toys and loves to be beside me at all times, no matter what I'm doing. Oh, and he's my sleeping buddy, even if he does snore like a large man.  

One rather cute thing about him is that his ears don't quite match/go the same way all the time. It's a pretty common occurrence for me to have to flip his ear over since it's flipped over or he'll look at me and one ear is up and the other one is down.

Either way I love my little dork and we're glad to have him in our life.
