More Random Jordan

So... these are in no particular order, but here's some random Jordan life!

So there's a really big Khann, bazaar whatever you want to call it that specializes in CHEAP clothing. It's basically goodwill for Amman, and not even kidding, a good chunk of it had goodwill tags. But it was nice to stock up on some easy essentials. The Khan was called Khan al-Khalili and it was right next to the Abdulli Mosque. So one day, Drew, Pat and I decided to visit and here's a picture of Pat in a lovely bright pink coat at the Khan:

Drew and I got to the Mosque earlier than she did and it was such a pretty day! I remembered visiting this mosque when I did the Jerusalem center and it was just as nice as I remembered!

There was a Coptic church across the street that was nice. It was pretty even if I didn't get a chance to run in.

The girls had to wear these cover ups that were interesting. But they helped keep people modest!

So skipping to some other random Jordan-ness, this is a picture I got of the Relief Society President in the Arabic branch in Amman on our last friday there. Also with Pat and Christina.

Speaking of Christina, we had a little arabic study abroad talent show and she played the ukulele while Mike sang. Twas great. Then she taught us a Norwegian Folk Song.

Then Joaquim played an AWESOME song that he wrote on the Uud. Twas great.

Watch the video here:

So I volunteered with a few groups, and one of them was a group working with Syrian Refugees who had been able to start over in Jordan and help some with English, coloring therapy for kids, etc. At the end they had us come over and brought us drinks and showed us some of the work of the people they worked with.

Some of the drawings of the Syrians:

So even though we were away from home, we had a get together with the English speaking-branch, the  missionaries and our group to have thanksgiving dinner. It was amazing. And delicious. And we had rotisserie chicken because that was cheaper than a turkey but was tasty nonetheless.

So here's a cute picture of London and Sadie playing by the window.

London!

And of course, the food:

So while I was in Jordan I made a few friends from different places. Farah I met my first week there as she was working at Mukthar Mall and became my friend who kept in touch throughout the semester. It was so great to get to know her and I hope that I can keep in touch!
