The second weekend we decided to go on a little trip that wouldn't take the whole day. So we decided to go with Dil and a group to the Citadel. It's the ancient site of Philadelphia and there are some fun Roman ruins along with ruins from previous empires. The columns are what is left over from a temple dedicated to Hercules.
Hi mom!
View of the amphitheatre and downtown Amman
That's what's left of the HAND of the statue of Hercules at this temple. Apparently it was 15 feet tall.
Here's the Umayyad Palace
And the Jordanian flag over ruins of the mosque
After exploring the citadel, we decided to go and see the amphitheatre. It was super cheap and a cool little experience.
The amphitheatres here are amazing. There's a spot in all of them where if you stand right there, you can be heard throughout the entire amphitheatre. It's so neat!!!!! After this we went and got lunch at Rim's, probably THE most famous schwarma place in Amman.
